Nathan Taylor, Equine Dental Technician (EqDT)

I’ve been practicing equine dentistry since graduating in 2019 from Mid-West Equine Dental Academy in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. I completed 250 practical hours working with draft to miniature horses of all ages who were in need of routine oral care or had more challenging issues.

Additionally, I studied  Animal Science  at Erie 1 BOCES, and interned at two small  animal veterinarian clinics. I attended State University at Cobleskill, where I worked on a special project that retrained off-the-track standardbred horses to be in service with the University Police Mounted Division.

In 2017 , I  won a scholarship to the New York State Thoroughbred Fellowship  Program, which only accepts a limited number of applicants for its four-month hands-on study of the industry. I was partnered with Todd A . Pletcher Racing  Stables  in  Saratoga Springs, New York furthering  my  knowledge of handling   thoroughbred yearlings!  I hold licenses with the New  York State Gaming Commission, and am one of a small number of equine dentists to hold licenses for on-track dentistry for both harness and thoroughbred racing.
